Standard format level 2 - for tutors
The course
The level 2 course is called "Forest School Assistant' and it consists of two units, Skills and Supporting Learning.
The course can be taught as a 4-day course, or split into 2 lots of 2-day training days.
In addition to the training, students will need to
assist with three consecutive sessions of FS, run by a qualified level 3 FS leader. Witness statement will be used as evidence of this.
observe one child over those three sessions and write up their observations of learning.

Skills Unit
This includes understanding of risk assessment and simple knots and tools for the Forest School Assistant.
Supporing Learning & Development Unit
This covers the areas of learning, play, behaviour and the role of the assistant.
